History

Campmeetings were a signifigant part of church life in ninteenth century America. In the early years of the United Christian Church, members likely attended campmeetings led by other groups in south central Pennsylvania, an interest that led them to have a Campmeeting of their own. The first Cleona Campmeeting was held in 1897 and has continued every August since. Campmeeting holds many wonderful memories for those who have attended over the years and serves as a constant reminder of God's blessings to His people and His church. It is a time of singing, praise, fellowship, worship, revival, and evangelism in a family environment enjoyable for children and seniors alike. Join us this year to renew old friendships or to begin making your own Campmeeting memories!

A full history of the Cleona Campmeeting is available at the Snack Stand during Campmeeting week. Our denominations history book is available at the Snack Stand as well.
